Message from the AV Governing Documents Committee:

Per Article VII- Changes and Amendments, of the Aladdin Villas Residents Association Regulations, a vote will be held at the annual meeting of Residents Association (Activities) on January 2, 2026, on proposed changes to the Regulations. 

  This IS NOT a vote on changes to the Bylaws or Deed Restrictions; those votes will take place at the February Annual Meeting of the Property Owners Association.

   A proposed change form has been developed and is available on the Aladdin Villas Official Website at AladdinVillas.org.  It is in the "For Residents" then "Published Documents" tabs.  The pdf form is labeled Governing Docs Change Submission E-41 Ver 2025-10.   Open it in Microsoft Edge and then you may add text.

  Submissions can be submitted on the form or in another format as long as all the information required on the form is provided.

  Proposed changes to the Activities Committee Regulations must be submitted by noon on Monday November 17.  They may be dropped off at the AV Office or they may be emailed to avgovdocs@gmail.com.

 

Food Drive:

Starting Friday 31 October there will be boxes in the Hacienda and Mesquite rooms, also in the Library.

The boxes are for a food drive to help those worse off than ourselves, especially those affected by SNAP payments being suspended on November 1st.

The donations will go to a Colonia,Puerto del Palmas in Penitas.

The A.V. quilters have been supporting this Colonia for years.

I appeal to your generosity to donate what you can including hygiene products, soap, shampoo, toothpaste as well as feminine hygiene products.

To All Aladdin Villas Residents:

Some of you may have heard that the Board of Directors recently approved the purchase of PAY HOA and may be wondering....what is heck is it? 

For now, it is the replacement of QuickBooks for our Accounting systems used by Corporate and Activities, which was old and is no longer supported.   A trial of different HOA software systems was done earlier this year, the Board and IT found that Pay HOA fits the needs of the accounting systems and has capacity for expansion with streamlining other areas in the future: Properties, Activities, Maintenance, Corporate emails to name just a few. 

 In order to activate future bells and whistles of this software and to assist us now, what we need from you during this transition process is: 

1. If we do not have an email on file for you, we need at least one email per household. (1 for each household member is ideal though). 
2. We need at least one phone number for each household. Again, ideal to have 1 for every household member. 
3. Your patience! 

We are excited about the implementation of this new software, and we hope you will see this as a positive move for the future of Aladdin Villas.

Veterans' Lunch - November 11 - program beginning at 10:30 am, $9.00 per person, Aladdin Villas Veterans eat free.  Please sign up by October 28th in the ballroom so we can invite our neighbors if any seats remain.  This year's program focuses on the 250th Anniversaries of the Army, Navy and Marine Corps. and features Sharyland Choir, Trumpets and more. 

 

The Veteran's Committee needs volunteers for kitchen help, decorating, set up and take down. If you can help us, please contact Ruthy Kalway 612-240-8969 and please leave a voice mail.

 

Aladdin Villas Garage Sale 

November 21, 1-4 Sale will be open to AV Residents - Must wear your name badge for entry

November 22 7-4 Sale will be Open to the Public

 

Celebrate Thanksgiving November 27th at 11:30 and serving at noon.  Aladdin is providing the turkey free for residents, guest pay $5.00 each., table decorations and side dishes handled by each table, sign up in the ballroom by November 20th at noon.

 

Happy Hour December 3rd in the Ballroom.  This will be the first happy hour for the season. Jerry Co band will be playing a wide selection of music for your listening and dancing pleasure from 4:00 till 6:00. Ben will keep the kitchen open till 5:00 with tacos, beans and rice. There will be no entrance fee, but tipping the band is strongly encouraged. A pass the hat type thing. 

 

Aladdin Villas Craft Sale dates: 2025 to 2026 season and are Open to the Public

 

December Kris Kringle Sale December 6 8:00 AM to 12 noon, set up for sale December 5th 3 -5 and day of sale 6:00 AM to 7:30 am.

 

All craft sales run from 8:00 AM to 12 noon.  Set up from 6:00 AM to 7:30 AM

Regular season crafts show dates: Thursday, January 15th, 2026, Thursday, February 19th, 2026, March 19th,2026.

The Tech Committee is in need of assistance.  If you have technology skills and are willing to volunteer, please reach out to Dominic Raftery at avTechChair@gmail.com.  If you have skills in any of these areas, they can use your help: Computer Systems/Network Management, Computer Applications Support, Website Development, Coding, Electronics.  Volunteers make our community the best place to live.  (02-10)

 

Recyling News!! Per the City of Mission, glass and cans that have been rinsed out can now be put in the recycling trailers.  Thank you to everyone for recycling - it keeps our annual dues down too!

 

What is/isn't allowed in our Roll Off dumpsters?  Notice from the City of Mission, exactly as worded by the city: Bulky items are allowed in Roll Off containers, such as, furniture, toys, appliances, brush and leaves.  Items not allowed in Roll Off containers are hazard liquids or chemicals, construction debris, dirt, rocks, cement or tires.

Board Meeting in the Hacienda room at 8:30 am the 2nd and last Thursday of the month. Next meeting is 10/30.  Please note:  Dial-In facility, for residents to listen in to Board Meetings, is no longer supported as the phone line in the Hacienda Room has been disconnected.
